FREDERIKSTED — Search teams combing the Frederiksted coast for a diver who went missing Monday morning found the man’s body late last night.

Craig “Tygah” Todman was positively identified by a family member as the deceased man, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The 911 Emergency Call Center got a call about a missing diver at 5:38 p.m. Monday, according to the VIPD.

Authorities were told that Todman went diving off of the Fisherman’s Dock in Frederiksted around 9:00 a.m. and had not returned, police said.

Remembrance ceremony for Craig “Tygah” Todman posted to Facebook.

St. Croix Rescue, VIPD Marine Unit, DPNR and private fishermen mobilized sometime in the
afternoon to search for the missing diver, according to police.

“After several hours of searching, the search was suspended for the evening around 7:30 p.m. with plans to resume at first light the following day,” VIPD spokeswoman Kishma Chichester said.

Private fishermen recruited additional manpower and continued to search the waters and found the body of the diver Todman just after 11:00 p.m., according to Chichester.
