St. Thomas man killed in Bovoni

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed in Bovoni on St. Thomas Saturday night.

Jahkeem Joseph, 25, was positively identified by a family member as the victim, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The case began at 8:13 p.m. Saturday, when the 911 Call Center was alerted by the ShotSpotter detection system that multiple gunshots were fired in Bovoni near Hill Crest Road, according to the VIPD.

Responding officers and Emergency Medical Technicians traveled to the crime scene in Bovoni and discovered one male who sustained multiple gunshot wounds about his body, police said.

Emergency Medical Technicians concluded that the male did not have any vital signs, according to police.

Joseph’s death was the first recorded homicide for the territory in 2025..
