Gunfire erupts at Frederiksted Fish Market; ‘multiple’ victims shot, injured

FREDERIKSTED — Police are investigating after “multiple” victims were injured in a shooting near the Frederiksted Fish Market on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency 911 dispatchers got “several” ShotSpotter notifications and calls of multiple shots fired at 3:15 p.m. along Veterans Shore Drive near the Frederiksted Fish Market and reports of multiple victims with gun shot wounds, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

Two gunshot victims were transported by ambulance and one by private vehicle to Juan F. Luis Hospital, where the victims continue to be treated for their injuries, according to the VIPD.

The Criminal Investigation Bureau is actively investigating this case.
