Man pistol-whipped during armed robbery at jewelry store in C’sted

CHRISTIANSTED — A St. Croix resident was pistol-whipped during an armed robbery at a downtown Christiansted jewelry store just after noon on Thursday, authorities said.

On Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 12:34 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received calls regarding a robbery at HAA Jewelers on Strand Street, Christiansted, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

A male victim reported that he was robbed at gunpoint by two males wearing dark clothing and that he was pistol whipped by one of the suspects, according to the VIPD.

“After the robbery the suspects fled the scene on foot towards the Government Parking Lot,” VIPD spokeswoman Kishma Chichester said.
