Shooting in Profit bar leaves 1 dead late Friday

KINGSHILL — Police are investigating after a man was found dead after a shooting in an Estate Profit bar late Friday, authorities said.

Hoedelair Germaine, 49, was positively identified by a family member as the homicide victim, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

At approximately 11:53 p.m., officers were dispatched by VITEMA’s 911 Emergency Call Center to Bienvenido’s Bar in Estate Profit, St. Croix, in reference to a reported gunshot victim, according to the VIPD.

The VIPD said it “extends its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Hoedelair Germaine, who tragically lost his life on Friday, October 17, 2025.”

Upon arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive male lying face down inside the establishment. Emergency Medical Technicians arrived shortly after and confirmed the male had no vital signs, police said.

The case is currently under active investigation by the VIPD Major Crimes Unit. At this time, no further details are available from the Virgin Islands Police Department.
