Cops charge woman allegedly linked to the shooting of cars at Cane Bay 

NORTH SHORE — Police have arrested a St. Croix woman who is allegedly linked to the shooting cars at Cane Bay in September of last year, authorities said.

Amber Stanley, 32, was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact and interfering with an officer discharging his duties, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The charges stem from an incident that took place in Cane Bay on September 15, 2024, at about 7:39 p.m., when 911 dispatchers got numerous calls about shots fired, according to the VIPD.

Patrol and the Criminal Investigation Bureau units were dispatched to the Cane Bay area, police said.

Upon their arrival, they got information of several vehicles being damaged by gunfire and that the “suspects” fled the area, according to police.

“Investigation into this matter disclosed several suspects and the vehicles that fled the area,” VIPD spokeswoman Kishma Chichester said.

During this investigation, officers met with “Amber Stanley who provided police with false information during her statement,” according to Chichester.

On October 22, 2025, detectives with the Criminal Investigation Bureau obtained an a warrant for the arrest of Stanley from a magistrate judge of the Superior Court.

Today, Stanley was taken into official custody without incident by police. She was read her Miranda Rights, booked and processed.

Her bail was set at $5,500.00. Stanley was able to post bail and secured her release.

She is scheduled for an advice-of-rights hearing set in Superior Court at Kings Hill on Monday, November 3, 2025.
