Shower activity and breezy conditions persist for the islands

SAN JUAN — The National Weather Service says we can expect the shower activity to continue during the morning hours, mainly in the windward sections of the islands.

Temperatures will increase slightly, with ranges from the mid to upper 80s along the urban and coastal areas and ranges to the mid to upper 70s in mountainous areas, according to the NWS.

We will experience winds from the southeast at 15 to 20 miles per hour, with slightly stronger gusts, the NWS said.

“Unsecured objects may be blown away by strong gusty winds,” it said on X.

Hazardous marine conditions continue for small crafts, especially for the offshore Atlantic and Caribbean waters and local passages.

Meanwhile, there is a moderate risk of rip currents for most beaches of the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

If you plan to visit the beaches today, please take the necessary precautions.

There’s also an elevated fire danger risk today for southern coastal plains and western Puerto Rico.
