Invest 98-L forms in Atlantic, NHC says

A northerly swell will make seas dangerous during the weekend. Expect showers and thunderstorms at times.

A special weather statement has been issued for Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas and Cruz Bay, St, John until 7:15 AM AST, according to the NWS.

Special Marine Warning including the Atlantic Waters of the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico from 10 NM to 19.5N, Coastal Waters east of Puerto Rico, around Vieques and and around and just north of Culebra and Saint John until 6:00 AM AST, the NWS said.

The northerly swell will deteriorate coastal conditions this weekend, particularly the north-facing beaches of Puerto Rico and Culebra.
