Governors Albert Bryan Jr. and Ricardo Rosselló Meet For First Time In Puerto Rico

SAN JUAN — Governor Albert Bryan, Jr. met with Puerto Rico Governor Ricardo Roselló while in the capital city Tuesday.

Governors Bryan and Roselló discussed the ongoing recovery efforts in Puerto Rico and the U.S Virgin Islands and preparedness efforts ahead of the 2019 Atlantic Hurricane season.

Each governor committed to establishing a working partnership between the governments of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands and to partner in the creation of maritime transport and other economic development opportunities between the Islands.

“It was great to meet with Governor Rosselló this morning,” Bryan said. “We had a good conversation on what we hope is the beginning of an effort to connect our economies more closely and a partnership to bring decades-long issues to resolution. We need to look to Puerto Rico more as a partner and not a competitor.”
