Police Come Across 50 Marijuana Plants When Searching For Suspect

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Police confiscated about 50 marijuana plants near a private residence in Hospital Ground on Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Detectives searching for a suspect in Hospital Ground discovered an illegal marijuana cultivation site about 11:19 a.m. Wednesday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“Detectives were at a location where the suspect is believed to reside when they observed about 50 marijuana plants,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The plants were confiscated as a result.”
