CHRISTIANSTED — A St. Croix man who allegedly repeatedly sexually assaulted an underage girl in his household was arrested by police on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
Jeremiah Stubbs, 38, of Peter’s Rest was arrested at 3:52 p.m. Saturday and charged him with first-degree unlawful sexual contact-domestic violence, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
“On June 17, the Department of Human Services reported that a minor was sexually assaulted by Stubbs on more than one occasion,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.
Stubbs was not offered bail, as per the territory’s domestic violence statutes.
He was remanded to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections (BOC) pending an advice-of-rights hearing.
