CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A third person was arrested in connection to a brutal kidnapping on St. Thomas after the victim saw one of the suspects at Cyril E. King Airport, Superior Court documents indicate.
The kidnapping was discovered Monday after an officer on patrol stopped to investigate a disturbance on Skyline Drive, and found a man who said he had been bound and tortured by several people who accused him of stealing $800,000, court records said.
Desie Henry, Jr., 26, of Anna’s Retreat, was arrested at 2 p.m. Wednesday and charged with conspiracy, false imprisonment and kidnapping, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
“Henry is alleged to have been involved in the kidnapping of a man in St. Thomas on September 14,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.
Henry was arrested in a joint operation between the FBI and VIPD.
Bail for Henry was set at $100,000. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections pending an advice-of-rights hearing.
Troy Harrigan, 51, of Estate Tutu, and Louvina Pringle, 42, of Oswald Harris Court were arrested Monday and charged with kidnapping-related charges after police said in court documents that the couple arranged for the torture of the unnamed victim.
The police investigation into this incident is still ongoing.
