CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Police are investigating the Tuesday afternoon discovery of the dead body of a man wearing all dark-colored clothing near the Crown Bay waterfront on St. Thomas, authorities said.
The 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of a decomposed body discovered near a business in Crown Bay at 3:53 p.m. Tuesday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
Officers traveled to the area and observed the body of a male, dressed all in black, “who appeared to be decomposed,” according to the VIPD.
“The Major Crime Bureau responded to a call where the decomposed remains of an unidentified male was found near a west side St. Thomas business,” the VIPD said on Twitter. “The cause of death is unknown at this time pending an autopsy.”
