DUI Driver Deron Casmir of St. Thomas Arrested After Car He Is Driving Kills Man on Bicycle

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A man riding a bicycle died when the bike he was riding collided with a vehicle early Sunday, according to police sources.

Curtis Brathwaite, no age given, died at Schneider Regional Medical Center about 4 a.m. Sunday.

The driver of the vehicle that killed Brathwaite, Deron Casmir, 23, has been arrested by police.

Police charged Casmir with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, source said.

The collision occurred about 3:30 a.m. near the Tortola Wharf along Veterans Drive, with the bicyclist trying to go south to north.
