CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The intersection of Dronningens Gade and Cuttets Gade will be closed beginning tomorrow as the Main Street Enhancement Project enters a new phase.

The Public Works Department said on Tuesday that the intersection would be closed until further notice “to accommodate the steady progress contractors continue to make on the Main Street Enhancement Project.”

The closure will allow for the excavation of the road to install new conduits and the resurfacing of the street with Euro Cobble Pavers like those already installed in nearby Market Square.

The revised traffic flow is:

  • All vehicular traffic will be allowed to travel north onto Guttets Gade, but most then detour to head west on Curacao Gade.
  • Traffic on Curacao Gade will flow west and exit onto Strand Gade.
  • Motorists will not be permitted to enter Curacao Gade from Strand Gade.
