St. Croix's Jorge Borque Arrested For Allegedly Beating, Strangling Woman At Long Reef Condos

CHRISTIANSTED — A St. Croix man was arrested for allegedly punching and strangling a woman at an Orange Grove condominium complex early Saturday morning.

Jorge M. Borque, 34, is charged with second-degree assault-domestic violence for an incident that allegedly took place at Long Reef Condominiums about 4:03 a.m. Saturday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

Police from the Ancilmo Marshall Command police station said when they arrived on the scene a woman told them Borque “struck her several times and strangled her to the point she could not breathe.” according to the VIPD.

Borque was located about 6:30 a.m. Saturday by detectives from the Criminal Investigations Bureau Domestic Violence Unit and detained.

No bail was set as per the domestic violence law. Borque was transported to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility where he was remanded pending an advice of rights hearing.
