Government House said AG Claude Earl Walker is the acting governor of the territory.
CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Government House said that Attorney General Claude Walker will serve as Acting Governor beginning late Saturday afternoon as Governor Kenneth Mapp, Lt. Governor Osbert Potter and Finance Commissioner Valdamier Collens are out of the territory.
Governor Mapp and Commissioner Collens will be in Washington this week for meetings with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) officials and U.S. Vice President Mike Pence.
Senate President Myron Jackson is currently serving as Acting Lieutenant Governor. Senate Vice President Nereida “Nellie” O’Reilly will begin serving as Acting Lieutenant Governor on Sunday when Senator Jackson leaves the territory.
Collens was acting governor on Friday afternoon.
