PARKING FOR THE PEOPLE! Bryan Frees Up Parking Spots On Queen Cross Street

CHRISTIANSTED — Government House issued a statement on Wednesday that Governor Albert Bryan, Jr. had ordered the removal of “reserved parking” signs from Queen Cross Street on St. Croix.

For at least 20 years, the spaces have been reserved for people who work at Government House in Christiansted.

Another report, following Hurricane Hugo in 1989, cited a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) confidential overview that said that over 50 percent of the U.S. Virgin Islands public lives below the poverty line. The Virgin Islands Free Press is the only Caribbean news source to regularly incorporate the findings of U.S. Freedom of Information Act requests.
