3-Year-Old Boy Hit By Vehicle In Parking Lot of Plaza Extra West: VIPD

FREDERIKSTED — Police were dispatched to the parking lot at Plaza Extra West in Estate Plessen in reference to a pedestrian vehicular accident about 11:33 a.m. on Sunday.

According to the police report, a three-year-old boy ran out into the parking lot in front of a moving vehicle, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“The driver of the vehicle stopped, but the boy’s leg was impacted by the vehicle,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

The unidentified boy was assisted by his mother and other witnesses and he was rushed to the Juan F. Luis Hospital by his mother, according to the VIPD.

He remains there listed in stable condition, Derima said.
