Barren Spot Man Arrested In 2018 Execution-Style Killing At Estate Grove Place: VIPD

FREDERIKSTED — Police detectives from the Major Crime Unit arrested a St. Croix man Tuesday in connection with a 2018 execution-style killing in Estate Grove Place, authorities said.

Voshon A. Vallarde, 22, of Barren Spot, was taken into official custody about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday after an arrest warrant was issued for him stemming from the murder of David Gonzalez on October 27, 2018 near St. Croix Mutual Homes, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

Witnesses said Gonzalez was leaving a St. Croix Mutuel Homes apartment building with a female friend when three masked men approached him and shot him multiple times in the upper body.

Vallarde’s bail was set at $1,000,000. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections (BOC) pending an advice-of-rights hearing.
