VIPD: St. Thomas Woman Died Of ‘Natural Causes’ In The Street In Estate Thomas

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. Thomas woman died of natural causes in the street yesterday — an autopsy has revealed, authorities said.

The 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of a female lying on the roadway unresponsive in Estate Thomas about 6:41 a.m. Tuesday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“A woman who was found on the ground unresponsive in Estate Thomas Tuesday died of natural causes, based on the results of an autopsy,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The findings close the investigation.”

The victim was identified by next of kin as 60-year-old Valerie Tyson Clarke.

“Officers were dispatched and they found the female in the Estate Thomas residential community,” Derima said. “EMS was contacted, and Emergency Medical Technicians on scene confirmed the victim had no vital signs.”

The VIPD’s Traffic Investigation Bureau investigated the case of Tyson Clarke.
