Human Services To Resume Head Start Lunches This Week … Stop During Easter

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — The Virgin Islands Department of Human Services said that Head Start “program classrooms” remain closed territory-wide until further notice.

Human Services said the distribution of meals to Head Start children began at various locations in St. Thomas and St. Croix on March 23, Human Services spokeswoman Michelle Francis said today.

“The Head Start program will continue with food distribution this week, however, (we) will not distribute food in honor of Easter holiday from Thursday April 9 to Monday April 13,” Francis said in a prepared statement.

People with questions should call (340) 773-1972 on St. Croix or (340) 774-0930 extension 4201 on St. Thomas.

Registration for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year has begun, according to Human Services.

People wishing to register their children for the program should call the numbers above.
