FREDERIKSTED — A St. Croix man wanted for statutory rape and parole violations by local and federal authorities surrendered to police without incident late Monday night.

Jimmy “Pitbull” Davis, 42, of no fixed address, was arrested about 11:11 p.m. Monday and charged with first-degree rape, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“Davis was identified as the individual who forcibly raped a 15-year-old female on April 3,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

There was also a federal warrant for his arrest for violation of supervised release, Derima said.

“He contacted detectives, agreed to surrender to police and was apprehended in Williams Delight without incident,” Derima said.

A meme circulated on Facebook said that Davis drives a black General Motors SUV and was seen in the Estate Profit area of St. Croix prior to his surrender.

Bail for Davis was set at $100,000. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections pending an advice- of-rights hearing.
