Whim Man Charged With Theft After Abduction Of Man In F’sted Town: VIPD

FREDERIKSTED — A Whim man was charged with a crime related to a recent abduction of a man off the street in Frederiksted town.

Aliek J. Hatchett, 20 of Estate Whim was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“Hatchett was in possession of an item belonging to the victim that was kidnapped from downtown Frederiksted on May 20,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

Law enforcement officers executed the search warrant of a home in Estate White Lady on Friday.

Bail for Hatchett was set at $25,000 as per chart. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections (BOC) pending an advice- of-rights hearing.
