CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A Lemon Strade man who has allegedly been stalking and harassing a St. Thomas woman since December 2019 was arrested by police on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
Justin Matthews, 22, of Lemon Strade, Charlotte Amalie was arrested about 5:45 p.m. Saturday and charged with stalking and disturbance of the peace, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
“The victim reported that she has been continuously being stalked and harassed by Matthews, apparently after he was involved in an incident with the victim’s boyfriend,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The victim reported that the harassment started in December 2019 and occurred as recently as June 10.”
Matthews was arrested based on a Superior Court warrant for his arrest, according to Derima.
Bail for Matthews was set at $10,000. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections (BOC) pending an advice-of-rights hearing.
