Hospital Ground Woman Charged With Rape After Admitting To Sex With Boy

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A Hospital Ground woman who allegedly had sex with an underage boy on St. Thomas for several months was arrested on rape charges Monday, authorities said.

Monique Turner, 54, of H.H. Bergs Home and Additions, was arrested at 3:00 p.m. Monday and charged with second-degree rape, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“Turner admitted to detectives that she engaged in a sexual contact with a minor male for several months,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said.

Bail for Turner was set at $100,000. Unable to post bail, she was remanded to the custody of the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections (BOC) pending an advice-of-rights hearing.

This case is still under active investigation.
