CRUZ BAY — The Virgin Islands Police Department is notifying the residents of St. John that they are experiencing “major electrical issues” at the Leander Jurgen Command in St. John.

“Those issues make it necessary to run the building’s generator all day and night,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “We are working with our electrical contractor to resolve the electrical issues, and we understand the inconvenience the situation is causing for nearby residents and businesses.”

The VIPD is asking the community for their continued patience as they try to resolve this issue, police said.

For more information, please contact the Office of the Police Commissioner at (340) 774-2211.

The VIPD said it “apologizes for any inconvenience this is causing.”
