Police Investigating Minor Shot In Estate Whim Early Monday: VIPD

FREDERIKSTED — Virgin Islands Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on St. Croix early Monday morning, authorities said.

The 911 Emergency Call Center reported a discharging of shots in Estate Whim at 2:16 a.m.., where a female reported that her minor son was shot in the foot, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

“Officers responded to the scene and discovered multiple bullet holes to the front and side of the house,” VIPD Communications Director Glen Dratte. “They observed blood in the interior of the living room and multiple broken items.”

The unnamed victim was taken to Juan F. Luis Hospital by ambulance where he was admitted and treated for a gunshot wound to the foot. He remains in stable condition.

This case is currently under active investigation. The Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) are asking for any assistance from the community regarding any eyewitness accounts or video footage.
