Second Suspect In Bovoni Armed Robbery Arrested: VIPD

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. John man wanted in connection to an armed robbery in Bovoni last month has turned himself in to police without incident.

Jarius Penn ,22, of Estate Pastory, surrendered to detectives with the Criminal Investigation Bureau on Friday, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

Penn was wanted for an armed robbery that took place on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Estate Bovoni Apartments, according to the VIPD.

“The victim was able to positively identify both individuals involved in the robbery, where one of the individuals pulled a firearm from his person and robbed the victim of over three thousand dollars of jewelry,” VIPD Communications Director Glen Dratte said.

He was booked and processed. Bail for Penn was set at $150,000. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to the Bureau of Correction pending an advise-of-rights hearing.

Police issued a wanted poster for Penn on Facebook at 1:41 p.m. Thursday.

This case is currently under active investigation by the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
