In June of 2022, detectives from the Economic Crimes Unit, St. Croix District, initiated an investigation into Anson Avery Gallaway, after five individuals filed complaints against him. The complaints filed with the VIPD alleged that he defaulted on several contract agreements, written under three different business names identified as: GHI Home Innovations LLC, GHI Global Investments LLC, and GHI Global Holding LLC.

The ECU investigation revealed that Gallaway, operated in the Virgin Islands under three
different businesses, selling prefabricated homes knowing that his business license does not
authorize him to sell prefabricated homes, according to the VIPD.

“Evidence showed that Gallaway offered services and products to the individuals which he could not provide, causing them a loss of $238,262.51,” VIPD Communications Director Glen Dratte said.

Gallaway surrendered himself to detectives with the Economic Crimes Unit on St. Thomas Monday morning where he was placed under arrest without incident. He was processed and booked at that time.

Bail for Gallaway was set at $100,000.00. Unable to post bail, he was remanded to custody of the Bureau of Corrections at the St. Thomas jail pending an advice-of-rights hearing.
