Tropical wave leaving, Saharan dust plume moving in, high rip current risk for St. Croix

SAN JUAN — Good morning! Our main image shows the water vapor visible on satellite imagery. A tropical wave is departing our area, but Saharan dust will follow, so please exercise caution, especially if you suffer from allergies!

It will be hot too…with a Heat Advisory in effect for all the coastal and low elevated municipalities, and also for the Virgin Islands.

It will be breezy too, and Small Craft Advisories are in effect for the local waters.

There is a high rip current risk for St. Croix, and a moderate risk elsewhere.

No tropical cyclone formation is expected over the next seven days.
