CHRISTIANSTED — Police said they are seeking a “person of interest” in the shooting death of 33-year-old Angel Casanova near the Christiansted Cemetery in St. Croix on Tuesday.
Elvis Villar Jr., 26, of Orange Grove, has been identified as a suspect in the murder investigation into Casanova’s death in Peter’s Farm earlier this week, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
The murder victim, Casanova, was living in Estate Friedensthal on St. Croix before his untimely death.
According to the VIPD, Elvis Villar Jr., a native of St. Croix, was born on March 24, 1998.

He is described as a Hispanic male with light skin, standing 5 feet 9 inches tall, and weighing approximately 135 pounds. Villar has black, short-cropped hair and brown eyes. The police have not released details about his involvement in the case but have emphasized the importance of locating him to assist in their investigation.
The homicide investigation is being spearheaded by the VIPD’s Forensic/Identification Section and Criminal Investigation Bureau.
