The risk of rip currents will increase today, with possible life-threatening rip currents along the surf zone, the National Weather Service said.

Additionally, showers and isolated thunderstorms expected to continue today near coastal areas of the islands, according to the NWS.

Beachgoers are encouraged to remain weather alert and seek shelter whenever they hear thunder.

Today St. Croix will see times of sun and clouds with a passing shower or two and a high of 85, AccuWeather said.

Tonight St. Croix will experience partly cloudy conditions and a low of 69, according to AccuWeather.
