CHRISTIANSTED — Police are investigating a shooting of a man in Castle Coakley on Saturday night, authorities said.
A call came in to the 911 Emergency Call Center about 6:51 p.m. Saturday and police were dispatched to Castle Coakley regarding an individual who was shot, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
“The victim told detectives that he was sitting under a tree when a vehicle pulled up, and an unknown person fired shots at him,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The victim suffered several gunshot wounds and was transported to the Juan Francisco Luis Hospital for treatment.”
The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
