New Ferry Service Between St. Thomas And St. Croix Makes Day Tripping Easier Between Islands

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — Native Son ferry service recently launched a new weekend service between St. Thomas and St. Croix.

The ferry service operates on Friday and Sunday, leaving the Blyden Terminal in Charlotte Amalie at 8 a.m. and noon, respectively, and arriving in Gallows Bay, St. Croix, within two hours.

The Friday service will be switched to Thursday this week due to the New Year’s holiday coming up.

“The schedule from St. Thomas to St. Croix has been specifically designed to make day trips and short weekend breaks an easy possibility,” Native Son said in a statement.

The route opens up island-hopping vacations for travelers to both destinations.

That gives travelers “around six hours to enjoy the island,” according to the company.

Native Son has long operated on the route between Tortola and St Thomas.
