FREDERIKSTED – Agriculture Commissioner Carlos Robles said the Virgin Islands has qualified for additional assistance for livestock farmers on St. Croix who have been adversely affected by the drought that began in February. U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Thomas Vilsack designated St. Croix a primary natural disaster area in August, Robles said.
Kraft Heinz has issued a recall for more than 2 million pounds of Oscar Mayer turkey bacon after consumers have reported becoming sick, according to the United State Department of Agriculture. In a press release, Kraft said the recall was issued because of products being “adulterated,” which would cause them
