CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A St. Thomas burglary suspect was allegedly caught red-handed by police with the stolen goods — in a restaurant.

Jason Donovan, 33, was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary after the owners of an Estate Pearl home said he stole items from them.

The 911 Emergency Call Center dispatched police Tuesday at 10 a.m. to the home in Estate Pearl where a woman said she woke up and noticed several items were missing from her house.

Detectives, acting on a tip later that day, went to the Betsy’s Bar near Frenchtown and allegedly found Donovan with some of the stolen items.

In all, Donovan has been charged with third-degree burglary, grand larceny and possession of stolen property in connection with the incident.

Unable to post bail of $35,000 Donovan was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending an advice of rights hearing.
