WASHINGTON – The Republican National Committee adopted a resolution from Virgin Islands GOP National Committeeman Jevon Williams that called upon Congress to cease foreign aid to countries that voted against U.S.-recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel on the floor of the United Nations General Assembly.

The action came Friday when the Republican Party’s governing body adopted a resolution from Jevon Williams, the Virgin Islands committeeman on the RNC.

“The GOP is clear: We stand with President Trump in recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel,” said Williams.

“It is not appropriate for foreign countries to tell the United States where it may locate its embassy.”

The resolution was unanimously adopted by the RNC during its general session at the Washington Hilton Hotel.
