Delegate Plaskett To Preside Over U.S. House of Representatives Today

WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Stacey Plaskett will preside over the U.S. House of Representatives today. As Speaker pro tempore, Plaskett will manage debate on the House Floor.

Plaskett was sworn in to her third term as the U.S. Representative for the Virgin Islands. Delegate Plaskett has recently been appointed Senior Whip by Leadership.

“Presiding over the House of Representatives is a great honor and privilege, and I thank Speaker Nancy Pelosi for the opportunity to take the gavel in the 116th Congress,” Plaskett said. “The American people voted for a Democratic Majority in the U.S. House to make government accessible, build an economy that works for everyone, and be a positive source for change in our country.
