DSPR Suspends After School Programs For 3 Weeks Due To COVID-19

CHRISTIANSTED — In light of the COVID-19 public health emergency, the Department of Sports, Parks, and Recreation (DSPR) has taken the below preventative measures in alignment with the Department of Health’s recommendations to help protect and continue to serve our community:

• Augmented facility hours territory-wide are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. until further notice.

• Effective immediately, all DSPR sport and recreation programs have been suspended until further notice. This includes any sporting activity or event coordinated by DSPR or held at a DSPR facility.

• All after-school programs (DSPR ran or after-school partnerships) are suspended for three weeks beginning today.

• We have suspended the rental of our facilities to minimize exposure to the COVID-19 virus. Applications will not be accepted until we resume regular business practices.

Facilities that have been rented within the next 60 days, please call the main office to reschedule; 340-773-0160 St. Croix or 340-774- 0255 St. Thomas.
