St. Croix Man Shot And Killed Near Market Square On Sunday Evening: VIPD

CHRISTIANSTED — A St. Croix man was shot multiple times and died near Times Square on Sunday evening, authorities said.

Terrance Leroy James, 38, of Christiansted was positively identified by next of kin as the victim, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The 911 Emergency Call Center received a report from a concerned citizen of shots fired on Market Street near Times Square about 5:31 p.m. Sunday, according to the VIPD.

“Responding officers found an unresponsive black male on the ground,” VIPD spokesman Toby Derima said. “The male appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds about the body.”

Emergency Medical Technicians on the scene concluded that James did not have any signs of life, according to Derima.
