Health Department Notes 8 Deaths In 8 Days As COVID-19 Claims Another Victim In Territory

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — With eight COVID-19 related deaths in eight days, the Virgin Islands Department of Health announced that yet another person has died from coronavirus.

VIDOH confirmed that the 109th person to die is a 52-year-old male on St. Thomas.

“Commissioner Encarnacion would like to share condolences from the entire Department of Health to the family of the deceased,” Health said.

The Department continues to work to slow the spread of COVID-19. Please continue to follow these precautionary measures: practice social distancing, wear a mask when in company of others outside of those in your household, clean frequently used areas thoroughly, and wash your hands often with soap and warm water.

On St. Thomas the Community Vaccination Center is located at the Community Health Clinic on the 2nd floor at the Schneider Regional Medical Center.
