CPB Agents Nab Wanted Florida Fugitive At CEK

CHARLOTTE AMALIE — A man was flagged at the St. Thomas airport as being wanted for dealing in stolen property in Florida, authorities said.

John Stephen Grandgerard, 37, of Jacksonville, was detained today by CBP agents at Cyril E. King Airport after customs agents determined he was wanted in the State of Florida.

Grandgerard was taken into official custody by detectives with the Criminal Investigation Bureau after an investigation revealed that Grandgerard had two outstanding warrants in Florida to include dealings with stolen property, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.
The fugitive Grandgerard was arrested, booked and processed, according to the VIPD. No bail was set in this matter and Grandgerard was remanded to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections pending an extradition hearing.
