SAN JUAN — We can expect intervals of clouds and sunshine with a shower possible in the area today, AccuWeather said.

The chance of precipitation is 65 percent; the probability of thunderstorms is 13 percent, according to AccuWeather.

The projected number of hours of rain is: 1.5; while the cloud cover in the region is 64 percent today, AccuWeather said.

A surface trough is expected to arrive today which will bring shower activity across the islands, the National Weather Service said.

There is a moderate risk of life-threatening rip currents with waves of 4 to 5 feet today, according to the NWS.

“If you plan to visit the beaches, please take the necessary precautions,” the NWS said on X.

We can expect some ponding of water in roadways and areas that drain poorly, particularly in western Puerto Rico, the NWS said.
