CHARLOTTE — A North Carolina lottery player hit the jackpot — but might not know it yet.
The player bought a Carolina Cash 5 game ticket that matched all the numbers picked in the Feb. 26 drawing, making it worth nearly $370,000, results show.
The winning numbers: 4-28-32-34-37.
The player is set to get richer after making a stop in Pittsboro, a roughly 30-mile drive west from Raleigh. The lucky ticket was sold at the town’s Breeze Thru convenience store, the N.C. Education Lottery wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Cash 5 is a rolling jackpot game that offers tickets starting at $1. To win the top prize, a player’s ticket must match all five numbers picked in a drawing, rules show.
As of 10 a.m. February 27, no one had claimed the prize, which totaled $369,962. In North Carolina, winners of drawing games have about six months to come forward, lottery officials wrote on their website and in an email to McClatchy News.
