Man arrested for shooting at Legendz Lounge in February

FREDERIKSTED — A 20-year-old man was served with a warrant for his arrest after officers pulled him over for riding in a $65,000 BMW without a license plate, authorities said.

Ervin Noel Jr., 20, was arrested and charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, carrying a firearm, whether openly or concealed, and unauthorized possession of ammunition, the Virgin Islands Police Department said.

The latest incident with Noel began at 11:52 a.m. on May 9, 2025, when members of the Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) conducted a traffic stop near the Reinholdt Jackson Sports Complex (Whim Ball Park) on a black BMW 3 Series that did not have a license plate, according to the VIPD.

On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, an arrest warrant had been drawn up for Noel in connection to a shooting incident that occurred on Friday, February 28, 2025, near the Legendz Lounge in Frederiksted. town, police said.

Upon approaching the vehicle, officers made contact with the driver, and the front passenger, Ervin Noel Jr, according to police.

During the traffic stop, officers presented Ervin Noel Jr. with a copy of the warrant for his arrest – and he surrendered without incident, police said.

The driver was unable to provide documentation (driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance) for the vehicle Noel was driving in, according to police.

Because of that, a wrecker was called to remove the vehicle. police said.

Before removal, an inventory of the vehicle and its contents was conducted in the presence of
the driver, according to police.

During this inventory, a member of the R.I.T. found a firearm ammunition, and a magazine under the front passenger seat, police said.

The Virgin Islands Police Department’s Firearms Bureau was contacted and confirmed that, as
of May 9, 2025, no firearm or ammunition license had been issued to Ervin Noel Jr, according to police.

Noel was subsequently transported to the Police Operations Building where he informed detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau that the firearm recovered from under the front passenger seat belonged to him, police said.

As a result, Ervin Noel Jr.,20, was arrested for Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree
based on the existing arrest warrant, according to police.

Bail for Noel was set at $100,000.00.

As a result of the traffic stop, Noel faces additional charges for carrying a firearm, whether openly or concealed, and for unauthorized possession of ammunition, police said.

Bail for these charges set at $50,000.00, as specified by the chart.

Unable to post bail, Noel was transferred to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections at the John A. Bell Adult Correctional Facility in Golden Grove.

The suspect was scheduled for an advice-of-rights hearing in Superior Court at Kingshill today.
