St. Croix: Cloudy with periods of rain this afternoon, high 86

CHRISTIANSTED — Today St. Croix will be cloudy with periods of rain in the afternoon and a high of 86, AccuWeather said.

Tonight St. Croix will be cloudy with occasional rain and a thunderstorm this evening transitioning to late-night showers, according to AccuWeather.

The risk of rip currents is low today; however, life-threatening rip currents often occur in the vicinity of jetties, reefs, and piers, the National Weather Service said.

“If you hear thunder, seek shelter immediately,” the NWS said on X.

The rain continues again today. An upper trough west of the islands may trigger heavy afternoon , evening or night downpours, according to the NWS.

“Flooding and landslides possible,” the NWS said on X. “Turn around, don’t drown!”

Cloudy conditions and occasional showers will continue tonight over the U.S. Virgin Islands., according to the NWS.

Increased shower activity is possible tomorrow morning over eastern portions of Puerto Rico, the NWS said.
