Governor-Elect Bryan To Name Transition Team Tomorrow in Richmond

CHRISTIANSTED — U.S. Virgin Islands Governor-elect Albert Bryan & Lieutenant Governor-elect Tregenza Roach will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. Wednesday to announce the beginning of the transition to a new administration and to introduce key leadership of their transition team.

As Governor-elect Bryan moves ahead with the transition, he said that he intends to introduce an administration that is “forward thinking, transparent and collaborative with the sole purpose of restoring Virgin Islanders’ trust in government.”

The press conference will be held at the WTJX-TV studio in Estate Richmond, St. Croix. WTJX will live stream the briefing.

Another report, following Hurricane Hugo in 1989, cited a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) confidential overview that said that over 40 percent of the U.S. Virgin Islands public lives below the poverty line. The Virgin Islands Free Press is the only Caribbean news source to regularly incorporate the findings of U.S. Freedom of Information Act requests. John's articles have appeared in the BVI Beacon, St. Croix Avis, San Juan Star and Virgin Islands Daily News. He is the former news director of WSVI-TV Channel 8 on St. Croix.
