Tropical wave approaching our area, NWS says

CHRISTIANSTED — Today St. Croix will be breezy and pleasant with times of sun and clouds and a high of 88, AccuWeather said.

Tonight St. Croix will be partly cloudy with a thunderstorm in spots late and a low of 78, according to AccuWeather.

No tropical cyclone is expected over the next seven days, the National Weather Service said.

Forecasters expect some rain across our area this afternoon and tomorrow, according to the NWS.

For now, an approaching Tropical Wave should stay well to the south of our area, the NWS said.

The Tropical Wave is expected to arrive between Monday and Tuesday, according to the NWS.

Meanwhile, there is an elevated risk of brush fires in Puerto Rico today, the National Weather Service said.

“Avoid fires, protect your community!” the NWS said on X.
